Anne Roos began her career in 1983, first performing at Renaissance fairs and quickly becoming a favored soloist for many other types of events - especially weddings.
Anne's ability to faithfully play a wide variety of music has helped establish her popularity. She can easily play for every element of wedding festivities--the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, or the reception. Her music repertoire spans traditional Celtic (Irish, Scottish, Welsh), English, folk, religious and secular, Early, Renaissance and classical music, to Broadway, contemporary, pop and Jazz, and is virtually unlimited. She can easily provide the traditional "Canon in D" by Pachelbel for the processional and "Here Comes the Bride" for the bride's entrance, and then play Frank Sinatra tunes and Beatles songs at the reception.
Performance locations have included many major resorts, hotels, convention centers, and cruise ships throughout this country. She has performed for many dignitaries, including the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ireland!
To help you plan your wedding music, Anne offers complimentary consultation either in person or by phone. A phone or live audition can also be arranged by appointment. Anne will make every effort to accommodate your special music requests.
As well as providing the perfect music for your wedding, Anne can style her attire according to the theme and colors of your event. Her extensive wardrobe includes period costumes that she has collected over the years.
Anne received her music education from the University of California, Los Angeles. She studied under Sylvia Woods and taught music for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She continues to teach harp privately.
To fulfill requests for a recording of Anne's music to use for weddings, she arranged and recorded the CD “Haste to the Wedding”, which includes Celtic music performed on solo harp with an ensemble of traditional instruments. "Haste to the Wedding" has become popular with couples that are looking for romantic music to accompany their wedding festivities. This recording of Celtic wedding ceremony music is packaged inside a lovely 48-page hard cover book containing vintage color images, Celtic toasts, blessings, legends, recipes, wedding traditions, and descriptions of traditional ceremonial attire.
